2. Preparing Your Device

2.1 Device Compatibility

▸ Check the phone and tablet compatibility list to learn about compatible mobile device models.

2.2 Device Charging

▸ If you purchase the 2TX+1RX set, place the transmitters and receiver into the charging case to charge them all at once.

2.3 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the side of the transmitter or receiver for two seconds to power it on or off.

For first-time use, complete the language and time settings by following the on-screen instructions.

2.5 Basic Linking Operation

The transmitters and the receiver in the package are linked upon shipment. If the transmitter and receiver are disconnected, refer to the following method for linking:

▸ Place the transmitters and the receiver in the charging case to link them automatically.

▸ Swipe

down on the receiver screen to enter the control menu. Tap Device Linking to add the transmitter. Press and hold the linking button on the transmitter to link the receiver. When the system status LED is solid green, the transmitter is linked successfully with the receiver.

2.6 Connecting to App

After connecting the devices to the DJI Mimo app, you can update the firmware or adjust parameters via DJI Mimo. Download the app here.

DJI Mic 3 supports connection via phone adapter or Wi-Fi. Please refer to the following.

2.7 Adjusting Parameters and Updating Firmware

Adjusting Parameters

In the device settings page of DJI Mimo, you can view connected devices and their battery status, or adjust parameters.

▸ Quick Actions with Dial: Use the dial to quickly lock, unlock, and adjust gain settings.

▸ Single Transmitter Control: Tap the transmitter volume bar or use the dial to enter the dedicated control interface to manage internal recording, mute, noise cancelling, or other functions.

▸ Multi-Transmitter Control: When multiple transmitters are linked to one receiver, swipe up on the home screen of the receiver to simultaneously enter the control interface for all transmitters in the group, effortlessly managing recording and noise cancelling for all transmitters.

 

Updating Firmware

After connecting to the app for the first time, a notification will appear at the top of the app’s homepage when new firmware is available. Once your device is connected, tap the prompt to update the firmware.

3. Product Usage

3.1 Installing the Windscreen

In outdoor or windy environments, use the windscreen to reduce wind noise and improve audio quality.

3.2 Wearing the Transmitter

The transmitter can be attached to clothing using a clip or a magnet.

 

3.3 Group Linking

DJI Mic 3 supports multiple transmitters or receivers connection, with up to four transmitters or eight receivers in a group.

 

3.4 Using with a Phone, Camera, or Computer

Using with a Phone

DJI Mic 3 supports connecting to mobile phones via phone adapter or Bluetooth.

Connect the receiver to the computer using the provided charging cable or adapter and set the audio input options on the computer. The transmitter can then be used as an external microphone. (The video uses the DJI Mic Mini as an example.)

The transmitter can connect to DJI filming devices via Bluetooth.

Channel Adjustment: Choose Mono, Stereo (dual-channel), or Quadraphonic (four-channel) recording based on your needs. In Quadraphonic mode, four transmitters can be used simultaneously, with each audio track recorded separately for easier post-production editing.

Dual-File 32-bit Float Internal Recording: When this feature is enabled, the transmitter records audio in 32-bit float format, allowing for greater flexibility in post-production editing.

Adaptive Gain Control: The Automatic mode effectively prevents audio clipping, suitable for high-volume scenarios; the Dynamic mode automatically adjust gain in response to volume changes, ensuing consistent loudness.

Lossless Audio Transmission: When enabled, it allows for lossless audio transmission, preserving higher sound quality.

Timecode: It is used to synchronize audio and video, making it easier to align multiple video angles and audio tracks during post-production.
