1. In the Box
Open the package, and take out your action camera and accessories in order, as shown below. If you choose to purchase the Adventure Combo, it will come with additional items, including two extreme batteries and a multifunctional battery case.

2. Preparing Your Device
2.1 Installing Battery & Charging
• Osmo Action 5 Pro
Installing the Battery: Press the Release button on the battery compartment cover, push the cover forward, and insert the battery into the battery compartment after opening the cover.
Charging Method: Press the Release button on the USB-C port cover and slide the cover down. Connect a charger to the USB-C port using the Type-C to Type-C PD cable included in the package. It takes about 53 minutes to fully charge the battery.
It is recommended to use the charging devices provided by DJI, such as DJI 30W USB-C Charger or other USB-C chargers that support Power Delivery or PPS.
• Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case
Through the USB-C port, the battery case is capable of charging three extreme batteries simultaneously, taking approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes to fully charge all of them. Additionally, it has the capacity to charge external devices such as smartphones.
Note: The battery case can store two microSD cards.
2.2 Device Activation
The action camera needs to be activated via DJI Mimo when it is used for the first time. Click here to download the app.
Run DJI Mimo and follow the corresponding instructions. Please ensure that your mobile device remains connected to the Internet during the activation process.
You can go to the Device Info Inquiry page to check the activation information, warranty period, and DJI Care service plan benefits.
2.3 Firmware Update
A prompt will appear in DJI Mimo when a firmware update is available. Update the firmware following the on-screen instructions to ensure optimal user experience.
- Before updating, please check the camera's battery level and ensure that it is at least 15%.
- The update will take approximately 2 minutes.
3. Sports Scenarios Notes
• Precautions before Diving
Osmo Action 5 Pro can be used underwater at depths of up to 20 m. It is recommended to use it with the 60m Waterproof Case, and the device can operate underwater up to 60 m deep. For long-term optimal performance of your action camera, it's crucial to acquaint yourself with usage guidelines prior to diving. Watch the video for further details.
• Precautions before Riding
To maintain your action camera in best condition over time, please familiarize yourself with the usage instructions before you start riding. Check the Osmo Action Safety Guidelines.
4. First Use
4.1 Powering On/Off
Press and hold the Quick Switch button to power on or off the camera.
4.2 Parameters settings
• Shooting Parameters
Swipe up from the bottom of the shooting interface to access the parameters settings. Various parameters can be adjusted in different shooting modes.
• Image Parameters
In the shooting interface, tap the parameter adjustment icon to modify image settings and other parameters. In PRO mode, advanced parameters can be set.
4.3. Shooting Modes
In the shooting interface, swipe left or right across the center of the screen for seamless access to the shooting mode selection interface. This enables switches between various modes, including Photo, Video, Subject Tracking, and Slow Motion.
• Photo & Video
Once powered on, press the Quick Switch (QS) button once to switch between Photo and Video modes. Then press the Shutter/Record button located on the top of the camera to either capture a photo or start or stop recording.
• Subject Tracking
In Subject Tracking mode, capturing video ensures that the subject remains centered within the frame. Whether you're skiing, riding, or creating a daily vlog, you can always highlight the main subject in your footage.
Note: Subject Tracking is not supported for vertical shooting. To achieve a vertical video effect, consider selecting the 9:16 aspect ratio.
• Slow Motion
Osmo Action 5 Pro supports 4x and 8x slow-motion video shooting. For more detailed usage instructions, please watch the video below.
• Timelapse
Osmo Action 5 Pro supports both Hyperlapse and Timelapse modes. You can capture timelapse videos while the camera is fixed and stationary or while it is in motion (such as mounted in a car or handheld). For more detailed usage instructions, please watch the video below.
• EIS Mode
In the Video mode, four stabilization modes are supported, including RockSteady, RockSteady+, HorizonBalancing, and HorizonSteady. For more detailed usage instructions, please watch the video below.
4.4 System Function
• Depth and Altitude Detection
The camera is equipped with a professional-grade pressure sensor that can detect the current diving depth or altitude. When activated, the recorded video will include depth or altitude information.
Note: The diving depth will not be displayed when the camera is used with the waterproof case.

5.1 Osmo Action Multifunctional Charging Handle

5.3 Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller
After Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller connects to the camera, you can control the camera remotely to capture footage using the remote controller. 6. Versatile Combinations
Using with DJI Mic 2
Osmo Action 5 Pro supports connecting two DJI Mic 2 simultaneously via Bluetooth, enabling stable wireless audio reception and remote recording control. For more information on usage, please refer to the video below.
7. Capture Complete
7.1 Footage Playback
The camera comes with a built-in storage capacity of 64 GB and supports storage expansion via microSD card.
• Playback: Tap the "Playback" icon on the left side of the shooting interface to enter the playback page. The screen will display the last photo or video captured or played back.
• Highlight: When playing back the video, you can tap the diamond icon to mark highlights, helping to quick locate specific moments during post-editing, and reducing the time to find highlights.
• Super Slow Motion: This feature allows for frame-by-frame analysis of regular video footage in the camera, enabling 4x frame interpolation slow-motion playback, with a maximum output of 960fps slow-motion video. Each video can generate up to 6 segments of super slow-motion footage. Please note that the video length must be no less than 3 seconds and the super slow-motion footage cannot be generated within the first and last 1.5 seconds of the video.
7.2 Footage Editing
The DJI Mimo app's dashboard feature enables the visualization of real-time sports data such as speed, trajectory direction, total distance, and altitude, enriching your video footage with sports data. For more detailed usage instructions, please watch the video below.
Currently, it supports importing sports data from Apple Health, Garmin Connect, and .fit format files.
7.3 Footage Exporting
