Open the package, and take out DJI Mic Mini and its accessories in order, as shown below. Before discarding the packaging box, please make sure to check for any missing items.

02 Preparing Your Device

 

2.1 Charging Methods

DJI Mic Mini (2 TX + 1 RX + Charging Case)Place the transmitter and the receiver in the charging case to start charging simultaneously. If your charging case is running out of battery, please use your own USB charger* and the provided USB-C charging cable to charge the case.

DJI Mic Mini (1 TX + 1 RX): Please use your own USB charger* and the provided splitter charging cable to connect the charging dock and receiver in order. Once connected, attach the transmitter to the charging dock to simultaneously charge both the transmitter and receiver.

Transmitter: Please use your own USB charger* and the provided USB-C charging cable to connect the charging dock. Then attach the transmitter to the charging dock to start charging.

* It is recommended to charge the charging case, charging dock and receiver using a 5V/2A charger.

 

2.2 Powering On/Off

If you've bought the DJI Mic Mini (2 TX + 1 RX + Charging Case) combo, when you take the transmitter and receiver out of the charging case, they will power on automatically. If the charging case has run out of power (you will see that the LEDs do not light up), please power on the devices manually as follows:

Transmitter or Receiver: Press and hold the power button on the side for two seconds to power on or off.

 

2.3 Connection

After connecting the DJI Mimo app, you can effortlessly adjust parameters or update firmware using your smartphone, enjoying a convenient operation experience. Click here to download the app.

Once the app is installed, you can opt to connect your device to the DJI Mimo app via the mobile phone adapter* or Bluetooth. For more information on usage, please refer to the video below.

* If your mobile device has a Lightning port, you'll need to buy the Lightning adapter separately. Click here to make the purchase.

 

2.4 Firmware Update

Before you start using it, make sure to run the DJI Mimo app and update the device firmware to the latest version for a better user experience. For step-by-step guidance, check out the video below.

 

2.5 Linking & Record Button

The transmitters and the receiver in the combos are linked by default. If the transmitter and receiver are disconnected, you can relink them using the charging case or manually. Press the linking button on the side of the transmitter once to start or stop recording. For step-by-step guidance, check out the video below.

 

2.6 New Feature Settings

• Noise Cancellation Level Settings

Press the power button on the transmitter once to enable or disable the noise cancelling function.

DJI Mic Mini offers two noise cancellation levels: Strong and Basic. The Basic level is the default setting when the function is enabled.

Strong Level: Suitable for noisy environments, significantly cutting ambient noise.

Basic Level: Perfect for relatively quiet indoor settings, reducing noises such as fan noise while preserving vocal clarity.

 

• Automatic Limiting to Prevent Audio Clipping Settings

Automatic limiting is enabled by default. DJI Mic Mini automatically lowers the volume if the audio input is too high, preventing clipping and ensuring reliable audio quality.

 

03 First Use

 

3.1 Using with a Smartphone

DJI Mic Mini can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth* or using the mobile device adapter**. For specific instructions, check out the video below. To learn how to connect via Bluetooth, head to the "Using with Filming Devices" section in this article.

3.2 Using with a Camera

DJI Mic Mini can be attached to the camera. After attaching the receiver using the back clip and connecting the audio cable, the transmitter will then capture audio for the camera. Once installed and connected, please click here to view the recommended gain for camera setup and adjust accordingly to avoid audio clipping or low volume. 2. Since DJI Mic Mini does not have a monitor port, you will need to plug your headphones into the camera for monitoring.

 

3.3 Using with a Computer

Connect the DJI Mic Mini receiver to the computer using the mobile device adapter or Type-C cable, and the transmitter can then be used as an external microphone. For specific instructions, please refer to the video below.

3.4 Using with Filming Devices

The transmitter supports direct connection to Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo Action 4, Osmo Action 5 Pro, or smartphone via Bluetooth. For step-by-step guidance, check out the video below.

Note:

1. Please upgrade your Osmo camera to the latest firmware version to support the new DJI Mic Minis connection feature. After upgrading the app to version1.14.0 or above, connect your Osmo camera. Go to「Profile > About > Check for Firmware Updates」, and you can download the camera firmware version that supports direct connection with DJI Mic Mini.

3.5 Live Streaming Scenarios Notes

Before you kick off your live stream, it's best to connect your streaming device to a 5GHz Wi-Fi band for better audio quality. If there are many 2.4GHz devices around, try turning them off or switching them to the 5GHz band to reduce signal interference.

• What is the maximum transmission distance between DJI Mic Mini's transmitter and receiver?

A:  When measured in an open, unobstructed environment free of interference, the maximum transmission distance is 400 m.

 

• How many transmitters can the DJI Mic Mini receiver link with?

A:  It can link with up to two DJI Mic Mini transmitters at the same time.
