Auto-Discharging Modes and Principles

Regular Self-discharge is a phenomenon in batteries in which internal chemical reactions reduce the stored charge of the battery without any connection between the electrodes or any external circuit. This is illustrated by the percentage of capacity lost each year or each month. In this case, the battery level will decrease naturally over time due to the physical characteristics of the battery.

Battery Auto-Discharging Function (Controlled Self-Discharge): The battery is actively controlled to discharge to a preset battery level within a specified time, using intelligent programming based on the battery’s normal self-discharge. For example, to prevent swelling, the DJI Mavic 3 intelligent flight battery automatically discharges to 96% of the battery level when idle for three days. It automatically discharges to 60% of the battery level when it is idle for nine days.

* Some intelligent flight batteries support manually setting the discharging rules.
