Hyperlapse shooting modes include Free, Circle, Course Lock, and Waypoint. A timelapse video is a series of still images capturing a scene that has a slow state-of-change and plays back in high speed when turned into a video, which record changes that would be too slow for the human eye to see.
Using with DJI Fly
Available products: DJI Mavic 4 Pro, DJI Flip, DJI Air 3S, DJI Air 3, DJI Air 2S, Mavic Air 2, DJI Mini 4 Pro, DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mavic 3 Pro, DJI Mavic 3 Classic, DJI Mavic 3.
When composing the picture, keep a distance between the foreground (that is, the object to be photographed) and the drone to reduce picture jitter.
1. Free
① After confirming the composition, tap Timelapse and select Free mode. In the Free mode, you can freely control the attitude of the drone and gimbal angle.
② Set the interval time (2s to 15s), video duration (2s to 30s), and maximum flight speed (0.1 m/s to 3 m/s). The drone will automatically calculate the required shooting time, and the screen displays the number of photos that will be taken and how long the shooting time will be. Then tap the Shutter/Record button on the right side of the screen to begin.
2. Circle
① In Circle mode, the drone takes the shooting target as the center of the circle, and flies around the selected subject to generate a timelapse shot.
② Tap Timelapse and select Circle mode in the app.
③ Set the interval time (2s to 15s), video duration ( 2s to 30s), and maximum flight speed (0.1 m/s to 3 m/s). Circle can be selected to travel in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, and then select a subject on the screen.
④ Tap the Shutter/Record button on the right side of the screen. After the target recognition is completed, the drone will automatically calculate the flight path and start shooting.
3. Course lock
① In Course Lock mode, after the orientation of the aircraft is locked, the aircraft will fly in the direction it is facing.
② Set the interval time (2s to 15s), video duration (2s to 30s), and maximum flight speed (0.1 m/s to 3 m/s).
③ After selecting the shooting target, tap the Shutter/Record button on the right side of the screen, and the drone will fly around the selected object for shooting. Regardless of its orientation, the drone will fly in the locked direction.
④ If a subject is not selected, the drone will fly in a straight line along the locked direction and shoot a straight-line timelapse video.
4. Waypoints
① In Waypoints mode, the drone automatically takes photos on a preset flight path and generates a timelapse video.
② Fly the drone to the specified location, change the yaw angle of the drone and gimbal tilt to add a shooting scene.
③ Tap the Shutter/Record button on the right side of the screen, and the drone will automatically calculate the flight path and start shooting.
④ Tap the small icon marked with the arrow to enter the Task Library. You can save the current flight path to the task library, or use an existing flight path. When using an existing flight path, check whether there are obstacles on the flight route and ensure flight safety.
⑤ After the shooting is completed, the drone will automatically generate a video, which is viewable in the Playback interface.
Using with DJI GO 4
Available products: Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic 2 Zoom.
1. Free
① Before a flight, ensure that the drone and remote controller are fully charged. Fly the drone in an open environment without obstructions or interference.
② After the drone takes off, adjust the composition, tap the Intelligent Flight Modes icon on the left side of the screen, and select Timelapse.
③ After selecting Timelapse, a “Do you want to save the original Hyperlapse photos?” prompt will pop up. (Saving unstitched photos may use a lot of storage space., which is conducive to future free creation). After entering the Hyperlapse mode, select Free.
④ Set the interval time (2s to 15s) and video duration (2s to 30s). The drone will automatically calculate the required shooting time. Tap the Shutter button (“GO”) to start shooting.
⑤ In Free mode, you can freely control the attitude of the drone and gimbal angle. During the shooting process, you can tap the stop icon on the left side of the screen to stop recording.
⑥ After the shooting, the app will automatically generate a timelapse video. You can view the generated video in the playback interface, edit and share the video through the app.
2. Circle
① In Circle mode, the drone takes the shooting target as the center of the circle, and flies around the selected subject to generate a timelapse shot.
② Tap Timelapse and select Circle in the app.
Set the interval time (2s to 15s) and video duration (2s to 30s), and Circle can be selected to travel in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Then select a subject on the screen.
③ Tap the Shutter button (“GO”), and the drone will automatically calculate the flight path and start shooting. The measured center and the corresponding flight path will be displayed on the map.
3. Course Lock
① In Course Lock mode, the drone will lock the current flight direction as the route direction. After the orientation of the aircraft is locked, the drone will fly in a straight line along the locked direction regardless of its orientation, and follow the target for shooting.
② Tap Timelapse and select Course Lock in the app.
Set the interval time (2s to 15s) and video duration (2s to 30s). Then set the direction before selecting subject.
③ Tap the Shutter button (“GO”) to start recording a timelapse video.
④ In addition, you can fly the drone in a straight line to shoot a timelapse video. Adjust the flight direction without selecting a target, and tap the Shutter button (“GO”) to shoot a timelapse video in a straight line.
⑤ You can see the flight distance marked by the red line on the map. Please fly with caution.
4. Waypoints
① In Waypoints mode, the drone automatically takes photos on a preset flight path and generates a timelapse video.
② Enter Timelapse, select Waypoints, and set the interval time (2s to 15s) and video duration (2s to 30s).
③ Tap Next. You can fly the drone to the specified location or adjust the gimbal tilt angle to add shooting scenes (up to five scenes can be added). Then tap the Shutter button (“GO”) to start recording a timelapse video.
