1. In the Box

Open the package, and take out DJI Neo and accessories in order, as shown below. If you purchase the Combo, comparing to the DJI Neo single product, you will have two flight intelligent batteries and one charging hub.

2. Preparing DJI Neo

2.1 Charging Methods

• Intelligent Flight Battery

Connect the USB charger to the USB-C port on DJI Neo to charge and activate the battery for the first time. When the battery level LEDs are on, it means the battery is successfully activated. It takes approximately one hour to fully charge one battery.

It is recommended to use a charger provided by DJI, such as DJI 65W Portable Charger or other USB PD chargers whose power output is no lower than 30 W.

• DJI Neo Two-Way Charging Hub

Insert the batteries into the battery ports of the charging hub until they click into place. Then connect the charging hub to a charger via USB-C port for charging batteries.

When used with the DJI 65W Portable Charger, the charging hub can fully charge three Intelligent Flight Batteries in approximately 60 minutes (it takes also approximately 60 minutes to fully charge one battery).

3. For Beginners

3.1 Flight Policies

Stay informed about the latest information on flight zones, flight restrictions, and requirements before flight. Strictly adhere to them while operating your DJI Neo.

For GEO Zone information near you, please tap “Before You Fly” in DJI Fly.

For flight safety regulations in different countries and regions, please explore our Compilation of Global Flight Safety Regulations.

3.2 Flight Environment Requirements

[Please avoid flying at night.] DJI Neo does not support Obstacle Avoidance, and Palm Control is not available in environments with poor lighting. It is recommended to fly in open areas that have good lighting without obstacles. Keep your DJI Neo within line of sight and stay away from obstacles, crowds, and water surface (at least 6 m above water), etc.

For more flight safety information, please refer to Flight Safety Essentials, which covers key points for responding to flight environments, prevention and management of flight incidents, as well as global flight safety regulations.

3.3 Protecting your device

To maintain your DJI Neo in best condition over time, please take care of important components during use.

• Camera: Avoid exposing the camera lens to environments with laser beams (such as laser shows) or capturing objects which have intense light sources (such as the sun) for a long time to prevent damage to the sensor.

• Gimbal: Avoid collisions or damage to the gimbal, as it contains delicate modules that, if harmed, could impair its functionality.

4. Getting Ready for the First Flight

DJI Neo is better suited for daily vlogging. We recommend shooting in environments with good lighting.

• What is the effective operating range of DJI Neo when it is connected to the DJI Fly app via Wi-Fi?

A: The effective operating range can reach up to 50 m when DJI Neo is connected to the DJI Fly app on the smartphone via Wi-Fi. The distance and image quality depend on the Wi-Fi performance of the smartphone and not solely determined by DJI Neo. While controlling DJI Neo via Wi-Fi, we recommend holding your smartphone with the front part toward DJI Neo for best performance.
